Beans,
Glorious, Beans
This could almost be called the bean blog. I mentioned my very tasty
bean making. For those wondering, I prep my Bean
Mix using the Hot
Soak Method. Then, I cook 'em in vegetable broth, a good
spoonful of minced garlic and a tea
ball full of the bean soup herb mix in Crescent Dragonwagon's

Food
= 1, Cleaning = 0
I am doing a abyssmal job at April's spring cleaning missive. Cleaning,
or lack thereof is one of my weakest traits.
But I can happily report that January's focus of joining a CSA and
learning to love my pantry is going fantastically! I've only gotten
groceries twice so far this year (just got a the second pantry-filling
order from Peapod
yesterday), plus CSA half-shares every other week or so. Yeah, every
so often I buy a dinner or some candy, but food-wise my life has definitely
simplified and gotten more frugal. Hooray for that!
On that front, I've learned to make some very, very tasty beans - so
tasty I get giddy like I'm eating green tea ice cream! Last time I
put great spices in my beans and felt like I had debris in it. This
time I put the spices in a tea
ball and it turned out perrrrfect! Go me!
Next food related mini-goal, make a healthier basic baking mix. I
hate to admit I'm a big fan of Jiffy baking mix - it's cheap, fast
and easy. I only hate to admit it b/c it's the epitomee of white,
refined food. I never claimed to be a bon vivant. I wish I was, because
it's such a darn cool sounding phrase.
[cracking the whip to get back to cleaning!]
