Brand New Brandy (Self Portrait Tuesday)

All of the nails from last week's post have been cleaned and trimmed. New haircut (Thanks, Mom!). Roots dyed. New glasses!

If you scroll down a couple Tuesday ago (i/r/t allergies), you'll see the specs I had for 7 or so years. Finally felt my eyesight waning. Knew I was pushing my luck, constantly falling asleep in my glasses. I paid a pretty penny back in '98 or so for those Giorgio Armani glasses. Turns out they were a great value, because they held up to a lot of naps and months worth of falling asleep in front of the teevee.

Note: No more biofocals. No longer neccessary. Smaller frames. Geez, glasses have gotten a lot smaller since '98. I dig small glasses as much as the next guy, but on me I look like a meathead. These were the closest to the beloved frames I was replacing, just smaller and black. Oh, and those fancy schmancy lenses that darken in the sun! D-Lux.


Oh, and Note to Lady at For Eyes: Don't knock a customer's glasses. "Oh, these are better. Those were just too much." That customer may really love those too much glasses. While my new (independent, not affiliated) optometrist is a ROCK STAR, I had a very so-so experience at For Eyes. Harrumph.

Self Portrait Tuesday
I was all matchy matchy* and comfy for a James-Bond-A-Thon at Justyna's house Saturday night. We had a sleepover where women were outnumbered by pugs, two to three (heaven!) and we watched Octopussy. Justyna decided her pug Breeze is Octopuggy. hee.

The next day we had a great breakfast and headed downtown. We found the absolute perfect spot in Millenium Park and spent the afternoon drawing, peoplewatching and enjoying the official end of summer. Later we were laughing at my match matching clothes and my "gang colors." So, here's pics of me looking tough:
