Sayonara
2003!
I should have been seeing tumbleweeds tumble by and hear crickets
the last couple weeks after my last sale and without client work
lines up. But because of an uncharacteristic surge of client work
the last couple weeks and from recovering from a bug this week,
I'm deferring my NYE tradition until this weekend. Normally, I retreat
into my hermit crab shell and look forward and look back. I make
some conclusions, make some goals.
I feel like I've got a giant backlog of stories to tell - but I'm
too pooped out to recall them right now. I hope folks have a superfun
(but still safe) New Year's Eve!
xoxoxo - Happy 2004!

Creaky
Brandy
I weather the holidays, open houses and visits from far flung friend
well. Until I woke up yesterday with the low grade crud going around.
Achey. Blech. Calendar, as seen on the Art/Work blog, is on hold
until I feel a bit better.

Been a Good Girl All Year
My grandma, mom and sis, in cahoots with Santa no doubt, gave me
just want I wanted this year! This morning in mail was
a bright and shiny new Print Gooco machine from Think Ink along
with the The New Gocco Guide! Hooray! Thank you!! I can't wait to
get crackin'. First project - thank you notes.

Mmm...
I've got much to report after a JAM-PACKED week, but right now I
have to be a Sunday night lazy ass. Rest my brain, hands, body in
general. Just wanted to report that I want a snowstorm now.
My apartment is clean and quiet and my blankets are warm. I'm ready
for a snowstorm.
Not cold enough outside.
Drat.

Neighborhoodies!
Just now, Michael de Zayas of Neighborhoodies
was on Eight
Forty-Eight on WBEZ
just now. SUCH a simple, brilliant idea. Neighborhoodies
sell hooded sweatshirts (and since inception lotsa other items)
with your neighborhood name on it. I rilly, rilly want an Edgewater
hoodie, because I love my neighborhood. I just have to decide on
colors.
And you can get any text you want, so if it's not your neighborhood
that speaks to you, you could get your hometown or school or club
or anything your heart desires on it! "Loosetooth.com" will be hoodie
#2!
And besides the fact that they execute a simple, smart idea well,
they seem to have the right ideas about business. And by "right"
I mean the same ideas I have. From the manifesto,
"The notion of SUCCESS, in the business world, needs to be redefined."
Amen.
If I had the $$ and didn't have my Xmas gifts covered, I'd be getting
everyone these things! So, you need to go to the site and do it
for me!
Comfortable clothes that convey your pride about something. Dig
it.
Update: I signed up as an affiliate, so if you're
keen on getting your own Neighborhoodie, please use the link above
and I'll get a small comission.
p.s. As cute as it is, please be careful about putting your kid's
name on their clothes. Then any old yahoo can call them by name
and confuse kids' "Stranger Danger" radar. My dad made me a hat
(trucker hat, the kids call 'em these days) with my name on it.
I wore it to the circus (yes the circus) and some guy called out,
"Hey, Brandy." Totally freaked me out. Just a note.
