Gimme My Treat.

Numo peeking out of a tube hole.

We have a nice habit. Everytime I put Numo back in his cage he runs up his tube. I give him a yogurt drop through a hole. He chomps on his treat. There is silent rejoicing.

The backstory is that last year I had a real problem with the mice in my old apartment building. First they ate the corn litter. Then I replaced the litter with toilet paper. They continued to eat his food. Infuriating! One night I was putting Numo's treats of dried cricket, dried mealie worms and a yogurt drop in his cage before I put him "to bed." Within 30 seconds of placing the yogurt drop down, a kamikaze mouse ran up the wall, grabbed it, ran down the wall!!

I honestly don't have a real problem with mice in old apartment buildings. I was not happy about the proximity of the mice and Numo. He can protect himself physically, but I didn't want him to catch some mouse bug. And I wasn't going to put Numo in some hermetically sealed, mouse proof container.

As a semi-solution, I began handing Numo his yogurt drops. So he could eat it before the pirate mice arrived. Now it's a nice routine.

Anyhow, the mice are now gone. The yogurt drop ritual remains.

NOTE: I wanted and got a hedgehog, I do not want hedgehog stuff. Really, I mean it. When you see hedgehog stuff, think of me and Numo, but please do not buy it for me/us.
