Kindess
For Your Eyes
Last Friday, I was on a mission to make my sister's birthday
gift. I made her a keen pair of square pants out of this fabric:

They turned out beautifully, but I didn't get a decent picture
of the pants. With the left over fabric, I made four eye pillows.

Oh, they are so soft and lovely. I made the covers out of the
cotton stripe with zippers on the top. I even clipped off the
zipper phlange to make it safer, substituting ribbon. Then I
sewn cotton inserts filled with flaxseed. Just enough to be
cool and heavy, Just enough that they still drape over your
eyes.

Chicago Craft Mafia Is Born!
Last night was the launch party for the Chicago
Craft Mafia. A slew of people came out to Tojo
Gallery to eat, drink, shop and be merry. Huge, huge
turnout, super energy to kick off this new endeavor. A Big Thank
You to those who joined us!

A view of my terribly symmetrical display. It was tough to whittle
down my display to one table. But the symmetry comforted me.

Tongue antics between Leah
and I. It was documentation of my wide tongue and her long tongue.
When she got too close with that hers, things went awry.

Covert
Goes Overt
Tomorrow night is the launch of a new business endeavor, the
Chicago
Craft Mafia. The launch party's cover was blown by
a totally unexpected mention in the Chicago Reader, front page
section 2. Hello Chicago!
