Cutting
Red Tape
Today, I left the house intending to finishing my business D(oing)
B(usiness) A(s) for the name change from Twenty-Two to Loosetooth.com.
That stop on the bureaucracy train was annoying but painless.
The woman behind the counter this time (not like last time)
was kind of incoherent and snippy. Luckily I had very little
to do.
Next
stop, getting my sales tax number. I filled out my form and
when I handed it to the man at the counter, he said officiously,
"Okay, I've got a few questions. One - Did you go to Catholic
school?" "No." "Two - Have you ever worked in engineering?"
"No." Then he shook his head stumped, since he was asking
these questions to explain my pristine form-filling-out handwriting.
I said, "But I am an artist and one of the things I do is
write in front of people, so I have to have good handwriting."
He then lifted up his arms in an "Of course!" gesture. Another
helpful man gave me the same sales tax id as Twenty-Two and
I was quickly on the bureaucracy train again.
Next,
Bank One to start a business checking account. I had to wait
awhile, and felt like a bit of a scrub in my pink jeans and
red tennis shoes. But then I thought, "Well, I'm young and
my business name ends in .com, so they'll wave off my attire."
Luis helped me and opened my account! The triumvirate! I guess
the harder economy makes bankers supernice, because I didn't
have a manager come up and thank me for the account for Twenty-Two
in 96.
The
bureaucracy train turned out to be running express today.

Grand
Opening
I now proudly announce the grand opening of my Cafe
Press Store! Over twenty designs are waiting for
you. Keep an eye on the homepage
for the newest weekly designs!
Anything
purchased at http://www.cafeshops.com/loosetooth
is filled by Cafe Press. I am open to suggestions for new
or existing products and for feedback on your ordering experience
- but I can't give you an order status or take returns myself.
Log into your Cafe Press account to take care of that.
Interested
in starting your
own Cafe Press shop? Cafe Press has an impressively
complete and simple-to-use interface. It's a print-on-demand
company that allows people to very quickly and painlessly
set up their own shop of their images imprinted on Cafe Press's
products. I'm using the Premium shop and have been very impressed
with it's versatility. And I stuck with mostly products who's
quality I've seen firsthand (mugs, clothing). I'll be ordering
the unknowns soon to test them out (clocks, tiles, bumper
stickers).
Enjoy!

Burning
the Midnight Oil
Finally toddling off to bed after about 9 straight hours working
on designs to sell on Cafe Press. I should open up the store
after I work out a couple kinks. Very happy with the way things
are shaping up.
Zzzzz...
