DIY
Trunk Show
Cinnamon and Amy put together a great show. Fantastic turnout
and the Pulaski Park building was nice. Sales were brisk. Great
crowd. Several vendors mentioned how happy the crowd was - lotsa
smiling faces. Yeah, while times are tough I tend to forget
that folks can have a positive experiences shopping. I made
a few great trades! Nice displays, good work from my quick sampling
away from my booth. All in all very positive. Just wiped out.
Craft shows are a crap shoot. But one snazzy thing was that
I saw quite a few people I knew and have met recently and met
a few great new folks. Felt a real sense of good, creative social
circles.
Good times. Good times.
Next show, DEPART-ment
December 5, 6, 7. More news to follow when things firm up.

Jewelry
All Counted & Accounted For!
Between craft shows and trunk shows and my upcoming private
open houses, I've been making a lot of jewelry. I was feeling
like my jewelry inventory was getting pretty squirrley. So,
Friday night, I completely overhauled my inventory and got everything
accurate. Paper inventory needed a lot of work with the new
stuff. Today, I checked the online inventory. Barely off at
all! So, my catch-as-catch-can system of adjusting the inventory
as I make sales, has worked pretty darn good on the site.
Granted, there's a slew of pieces that haven't been photographed
and added to the site yet. I've been selling way more offline
than on, so I've been slow to put the time into making new shop
pages. Still debating how much to do. Why build the pages if
they may very well sell offline first? Still debating.
At this moment, there's 90 designs on the site, between necklaces,
bracelets and earrings. There's 66 new designs not on the site.
If I think about it too long, I get pretty low about the rarity
of sales from the site. Unfortunately, there are so many undefined
variables about why people do and don't buy online. Even in
person, you're never sure why folks are and aren't buying. I
keep my ears and eyes open and carry on. If you have any advice
about the online shop, please post to the
forum. Thanks!
