Listen: Drawing Out Business Ideas with Brandy Agerbeck
Neil Ball of The Entrepreneur Way invited me on to talk about drawing out business ideas — and we ended up in some territory I really love.
My recommended books: The War of Art by Steven Pressfield and Taming Your Gremlin by Rick Carson. Both are about getting out of your own way — which is exactly what visual thinking tools help you do.
My entrepreneurial role models: Charles and Ray Eames. Two people who built a body of work entirely on their own terms.
A few things I said that I still stand by:
"We have far more ability to craft and shape our way of making a living than most people think. As long as you are creating something of value that serves people, there are so many ways to shape what you do — it's just a matter of giving yourself permission and going at it."
“Always thinking ahead and anticipating people’s needs. I think that and listening skills and facilitation skills, anticipating needs and that ability to truly listen makes you absolutely indispensable”
"You get the same lesson until you learn it."
